Zipp Wheels

Zipp

Zipp Super 9 Disc Wheel

Super 9 Disc Tubular - $2,075

With a slightly wider 23mm tire bed, the Super-9 is able to provide superb aerodynamics with tires up to 23mm while offering ample chainstay clearance for even the tightest aero frames. Note: integrated aero rear brakes in some frames may present clearance issues; please check fit with brake before purchasing.

The Super-9's hub features the stiff 17mm axles of the 188 road hub along with adjustable bearing preload with the industry's only aero preload nut. The standard version of the Super-9 weighs less than 1,000 grams and is convertible between road and track setups.

Note: valve stem must be at least 45mm. Please use a 27mm valve extender with all Tangente tires.

Sub 9

Sub 9 Disc - $2,075

In the center of the aero "sweet spot," a wind angle of 12 to 18 degrees, the Zipp Sub-9 was the first wheel ever to produce forward lift when it was paired with our 21mm Tangente tire. To achieve this feat, we added a toroidal bulge similar to our 1080 and 808 spoked wheels around the edge of the disc to control airflow at the wheel's leading and trailing edges. In addition to improving aero performance, the bulge's vertical compliance keeps the Sub-9 glued to the road when cornering and yields a comfortable ride.

Warning:
Variation in individual chain stay specifications on these bike models may cause interference issues with the Sub9. This is more of an issue for heavier and stronger riders (>170 lbs), but Zipp strongly recommends you test the compatibility under riding loads and conditions before making a purchase.

Zipp 900 Disc Wheel

900 Disc Tubular - $1,475
900 Disc Clincher - $1,675

Although it doesn't quite match the aero performance of the Super-9 and Sub-9, the Zipp 900 disc was still fast enough to be the choice of Cervélo TestTeam for the 2009 Tour de France and for Kristin Armstrong's victory in the 2008 Olympic time trial.

The 900 Tubular is versatile enough to be swapped from a road setup to a track configuation and be ready for action at the highest levels of the sport.

For the Clincher model, Zipp incorporated their patented toroidal rim shape and used their proprietary M2CM technology to increase strength while reducing drag around the interface of aluminum and carbon.

The 840 Tubular model scales down the 900 Disc from a 700c to 650c rim.

1080

1080 Tubular / Clincher
Front $1,217 / Rear $1,428

To improve upon Zipp's 81mm-deep 808s, they tested a range of prototypes for the 1080 before settling on fully toroidal shape that blends 5 distinct curves to smooth airflow. This new profile makes the 1080 nearly 30 seconds faster over 40km than a three-spoke wheel but generates no additional lateral force in a crosswind. The 1080s feature Zipp's Carbon Bridge technology for impact resistance and external spoke nipples for serviceability.

The Clincher model uses Zipp's M2CM technology to increase strength while reducing drag around the interface of aluminum and carbon.

Warning:
Variation in individual chain stay specifications on these bike models may cause interference issues with the Sub9. This is more of an issue for heavier and stronger riders (>170 lbs), but Zipp strongly recommends you test the compatibility under riding loads and conditions before making a purchase.

808

808 Tubular / Clincher
Front $1,143 / Rear $1,342
Track Tubular / MAX Tubular /
Clincher - $ Call

With a fully toroidal 81mm rim profile and Zipps exclusive ALBC dimples, the 808 is both more aerodynamic than a three-spoke wheel and more stable in crosswinds. It is ideal for TT and Triathlon and has been raced to many victories, including an IM World Championship.

The Clincher model uses Zipp's M2CM technology.

The Track Tubular is a 1844g wheelset that is tuned for speed with a track-specific dimpled 81mm rim, 20/24 front/rear spoke counts, and Zipp's stout track hubs.

The MAX models feature 24/24 spoke counts for heavier or stronger riders, ensuring that more power is transferred to the road and not wasted in deflection.

404

404 Tubular / Clincher
Front $1,051/Rear $1,234
Carbon Clincher
Front $1,215/Rear $1,485
MAX Tubular/Clincher,
Track Tubular, Cyclocross
- $ Call

The current version of the 404 is faster than ever with the third generation of Zipp's patented ABLC dimpling pattern and a fully toroidal rim shape derived from over 100 hours of wind tunnel testing. The 404 is built with Zipp's Carbon Bridge technology that dramatically increases impact resistance with a Kevlar thread running perpendicular to the carbon laminate.

The Clincher model uses Zipp's M2CM technology.

The Track Tubular features 28 front/rear spoke counts and Zipp's track hubs.

The MAX models feature a 24 spoke count in the front and rear, for heavier and stronger riders.

The Carbon Clincher account for the differences in airflow patterns between clincher tires and tubulars by using Zipp's proprietary Firecrest, which employs a complex set of high-radius curves to adjust the width of the rim from 25.5mm at the braking track to 27.5mm at the rim's widest point. This less tapered version of our proven hybrid-toroidal clincher rim shape particularly improves the aerodynamics of the wheel.

303

303 Tubular/Clincher
Front $1,051/Rear $1,234
Cyclocross - $ Call

The 303 is Zipp's most versatile wheel, incorporating all the aerodynamic features of their deeper rims. It is only 101g heavier than Zipp's ultra-light 202s. The Tubular model uses Zipp's patented Carbon Bridge system for increased impact resistance.

The Clincher model features Zipp's M2CM technology.

The Cyclocross model is a45mm deep, 27.5mm wide, fully toroidal rim that acts like a leaf spring to dampen vibration on rough surfaces and minimize the chance of damage from major impacts.

202

202 Tubular -
Front $1,051 / Rear $1,234

Zipp developed the 202’s 32mm toroidal profile in the wind tunnel in order for it to roll on the flats as efficiently as many 45-50mm rims. For descents, the 202’s high lateral stiffness delivers precise handling and crisp accelerations to finish off the competition.

Zipp equipped the 202s with their 88/188 hubset and external spoke nipples for easier service with no aero penalty. Zipp's VCLC and Carbon Bridge technologies ensure that the 202's ride is comfortable, smooth, and rock-solid.
