Pack Saddle Pass Ride The Bicycle Cafe had the Pack Saddle Pass Ride on Saturday, September 3, 2011. This ride was put on for the Stockton Bike Club and by word of mouth to others. It was a low key trial run for next year's "Prestissimo Sierra" ride which will be advertised in Cycle California. During this first year we had a smaller, more intimate group, whereas for 2012, we are planning on a larger group with a higher cost.
In 2012, this ride will be on the Saturday following the Labor Day holiday, which is September 8. We have an approved permit with the Park Service for this weekend. Much has been involved with organizing this ride to make it an annual event.
This ride is a 69.47 mile out and back ride with the starting elevation of 7,377 ft, a maximum elevation of 8,028 ft, and 7,464 ft gain. The lowest altitude is 4,990 ft.
In 2011, the price of the ride was $25 per person, which included parking, sag, and lunch; a $40 fee included parking, sag, lunch, and a tee shirt (which was available after the ride date, we only purchased the number of shirts per rider that participated in 2011).
To RSVP, please call Carleen at 209-224-5311 (w) or 925-216-8065 (c), or email at Carleen@LodiBicycleCafe.com
The ride leaves from Silver Lake (park off of Highway 88 on the northeast side of Keyes Road) at 7:00 am. Please arrive by 6:30 am.
