Each Tallerico bicycle is custom, and that means built to your specific body measurements! First, we start the build process with a fitting appointment, which involves you bringing your existing bicycle, cycling shorts, and cycling shoes at a pre-arranged time. This allows us to focus all our attention as we determine the correct bike build for your needs. Whether it's a classic road, track, or touring frameset, our finely tuned building style is guaranteed to exceed the industry's highest standards.

Jon Tallerico has many years of experience fitting riders to their bikes as well as building made-to-measure bicycles. Feel free to read his portfolio.

Pricing below includes one color choice and several decal options. Please add an additional $100.00 per extra color.

Randonneur is French for "rambler," and rambling is what this bike is designed for. A randonée or brevet ride is an organized long distance, non-competitive ride that is between 200 and 1200 km. The most famous randonée is the Paris-Brest-Paris. A Randonneur bike is essentially a super-long distance road racing bicycle.

Since brevets occasionally start in the morning one day, and end the next day at night, riders typically encounter rain part, or all, of the ride. Randonneur bikes have braze-ons to accommodate touring racks and fenders, and come equipped with a bicycle lighting system.

A Tallerico Randonneur is built in true brevet tradition. It resembles a true road racing bike with big tires, racks, and fenders, as opposed to a touring bike look and design. Long reach brakes with clearance for fenders and larger tires (23-28 mm) are standard. This makes a Tallerico Randonneur a comfortable and good performing ride.

While developing our Tallerico Randonneur bikes, we made clear choices. First, it is not a touring bike because a touring bike is more relaxed in geometry and designed to be stable and comfortable over long distances while carrying additional weight (25-70 lbs) on the bike. Second, it is not a road racing bike because a road racing frameset is designed to be light, stable, and fast through hilly and mountainous terrains, is generally ridden for no more than 4 - 6 hours, and has no need for racks and fenders.

The geometry of our final Randonneur design is between that of a touring bicycle and racing bicycle, because a Randonneur should be fast, stable, and light for hilly to mountainous terrain. It comes ready to accommodate touring racks, fenders, lights, extra water and food. Our standard Randonneur frame size features a 55.5 cm top tube and the following specs:

  • Seat Tube 53.5 cm center to center
  • Seat angle of 73 °
  • Head Tube angle of 72.5 °
  • Top Tube length of 55.5 cm center to center
  • Rear Center of 42.5 cm
  • Fork Rake of 43 mm
  • •Wheel Drop of 7 cm
