We have a rare approach to selling bicycles at The Bike Café. Here, the purchase of a new bike begins with a fitting assessment, either on your existing bike or on one of our shop models. We do this so that we can analyze your body measurements, existing position, riding style, riding goals, and budget in order to determine the optimal frame size, component composition, and wheels. You will receive several bike build options to choose from. Once you select your build, we order your bike.
When we receive your bike, we meticulously inspect the bike and all the components. First, we inspect the frame's alignment on our surface plate. Once we know the frame is true, we inspect every component before we install it. On average, we spend 4 hours building a new bike, 6 hours if we are also building wheels as well. While we have the skill to rush a build, we prefer not to.
For new bike purchases, the fitting is included in the price of the bike. We encourage new cyclists to return 90 days after the purchase for follow-up adjustments; experienced cyclists can come in as needed.

Guru PhotonBicycling Magazine named our Guru Photon their "2010 Dream Bike of the Year" and for good reason! The Photon delivers off the chart power transfer and yet is more comfortable than any road bike you've ever ridden. It corners like a Formula 1 car, yet is silky smooth and reliable over the long haul. At the same time this bike happens to be the lightest custom frame in the world ― tipping the scales at under 750 grams for a 54 cm frame including an integrated seat mast.
The Guru Photon is quite simply, the world's most advanced composite road frame. At the root of this bike's gram-for-gram supremacy is the use of North-American sourced, military grade HS-40 carbon fiber.
When developing the Photon, we subscribed to a "less is much more" design philosophy, so that the carbon fiber's exceptional properties are harnessed to produce an unprecedented stiffness-to-weight ratio.
Like every Guru frame, the Photon is custom built in-house to individual rider specifications. That means the superior ride quality of a perfect fit is standard issue. Finally, an ultra-lightweight that can make a believer out of any cyclist! |

Evolo R
The mandate when designing the brand new Evolo-R was to take proven Guru technology and create a muscular performance machine. Stiffness and power come directly from our oversized bottom bracket using the Truvativ Pressfit 30 BB system. Features include a muscular bottom bracket shell, all carbon dropouts, an integrated seatmast and the 1 1/8" – 1 1/2" tapered headtube for an integrated front fork and increased front stiffness.
Quite literally, a true race machine, it was designed to be super stiff.
Whether you require an aggressive low and long stance, a more relaxed upright position or anything in between – Guru Custom can make it happen! |

Evolo
The Evolo is the ultimate balancing act between performance and endurance.
While borrowing much of the Evolo-R's performance features; such as beefy chainstays and a stiffer bottom bracket, it also has arced seatstays that make it more vertically compliant – making the Evolo a perfect "all arounder".
Whether you're an athlete looking for the perfect balance between comfort and performance or you're a weekend warrior out to lead your club peloton; the Evolo will not disappoint! |
