Independent Fabrication Bicycles
We have a rare approach to selling bicycles at The Bike Café. Here, the purchase of a new bike begins with a fitting assessment, either on your existing bike or on one of our shop models. We do this so that we can analyze your body measurements, existing position, riding style, riding goals, and budget in order to determine the optimal frame size, component composition, and wheels. You will receive several bike build options to choose from. Once you select your build, we order your bike.
When we receive your bike, we meticulously inspect the bike and all the components. First, we inspect the frame's alignment on our surface plate. Once we know the frame is true, we inspect every component before we install it. On average, we spend 4 hours building a new bike, 6 hours if we are also building wheels as well. While we have the skill to rush a build, we prefer not to.
For new bike purchases, the fitting is included in the price of the bike. We encourage new cyclists to return 90 days after the purchase for follow-up adjustments; experienced cyclists can come in as needed.
Independent Fabrication XS
The XS features aerospace grade 3/2.5 titanium tubing used in the front triangle, lugged main triangle with custom made carbon fiber tubing, shot peening for a durable, superior finish and improved fatigue life, custom machined 6/4 titanium dropouts, an EDGE all-carbon 1.125" fork, a custom fork offset, and a sterling silver headbadge.
The XS can be customized further with, custom paint applied in Independent Fabrication's PPG Certified paint shop, custom lugs, an exotic metal headbadge, and your choice of decals.
Independent Fabrication SSR
The SSR uses the most modern steel tubeset available today: Columbus XCr and features an EDGE all carbon fork, a head tube and down tube gusset for optimal strength and stiffness, a bottom bracket custom machined and relieved for lightweight strength, custom machined 17 - 4 dropouts for added strength, a sterling silver headbadge and a 5-year warranty on materials.
The SSR can be customized further by 15 decal color combinations and painted with custom paint applied in Independent Fabrication's PPG Certified paint shop. It can be converted into a single speed, made into a smaller frame (44 - 48cm) with 650c wheels, or have 120 track dropouts installed.
Independent Fabrication Ti Crown Jewel
The Ti Crown Jewel features aerospace grade 3/2.5 titanium tubing, shot peening for durable, superior finish and improved fatigue life, custom machined 6/4 titanium dropouts, an EDGE all carbon 1.125" fork with custom fork offset, and a sterling silver headbadge.
You can customize your Ti Crown Jewel with 15 decal color combinations, a custom paint applied in Independent Fabrication's PPG Certified paint shop, an EDGE carbon fiber monostay, S&S coupling option for ultimate portability, a compact design (no additional cost), and long reach brakes for use with fenders and rack mounts (steel fork required).
Independent Fabrication Factory Lightweight
The Factory Lightweight features an EDGE all carbon fork, head and down tubes gusset for optimal strength and stiffness, a bottom bracket custom machined and relieved for lightweight strength, custom machined and heat treated dropouts, and a sterling silver headbadge.
