Guru Road Bikes
We have a rare approach to selling bicycles at The Bike Café. Here, the purchase of a new bike begins with a fitting assessment, either on your existing bike or on one of our shop models. We do this so that we can analyze your body measurements, existing position, riding style, riding goals, and budget in order to determine the optimal frame size, component composition, and wheels. You will receive several bike build options to choose from. Once you select your build, we order your bike.
When we receive your bike, we meticulously inspect the bike and all the components. First, we inspect the frame's alignment on our surface plate. Once we know the frame is true, we inspect every component before we install it. On average, we spend 4 hours building a new bike, 6 hours if we are also building wheels as well. While we have the skill to rush a build, we prefer not to.
For new bike purchases, the fitting is included in the price of the bike. We encourage new cyclists to return 90 days after the purchase for follow-up adjustments; experienced cyclists can come in as needed.
Guru Photon
The Photon is a fully customizable, sub-750 gram road frame. It has hand-wrapped, premium HS-40 carbon fiber construction, with a 70/30 fiber-to-resin ratio (vs. 50/50 for Asian-made bikes). The seat tube and bottom bracket shell are molded in one piece, maximizing stiffness and structural integrity where it counts. The drop-outs are compression-molded and integrated into the chain stays; threaded inserts for bottle cages and front derailleur hanger minimize post-mold bonded surfaces to enhance frame integrity. It is available with an integrated seat mast or optional standard seat post and either a pressfit BB30 or standard B.S.A. external bearings.
Guru Geneo
The Geneo is a fully customizable, seamless aero carbon road frame. It is an aerospace grade, high modulus carbon construction featuring a 70/30 fiber-to-resin ratio. The Matrix One fabrication features internally-pressurized molding method produces true monocoque construction and transmits loads more fluidly for outstanding power transfer. Guru has an FEA-directed, in-house carbon lay-up allows for pin-pointed accuracy in the orientation and thickness of the fibers.
Guru Evolo
The Evolo is a fully customizable, carbon road frame. It, like the Geneo, features aerospace grade, high modulus carbon construction features a 70/30 fiber-to-resin ratio. Guru's Fasciato fabrication fuses shaped carbon tubes efficiently, producing exceptional structural integrity at minimal weight for outstanding stiffness-to-weight ratio. The streamlined chainstays and seat stays optimize vertical compliance to accentuate the comfort advantages of carbon.
Guru Praemio
The Praemio is a fully customizable, 100% titanium frame. The precision-aligned, meticulously welded aerospace grade titanium tubing (seamless, butted 3AL / 2.5V tubes). The oversized, integrated titanium head tube enhances torsional rigidity and engenders better weld quality for a more power efficient, ever-lasting frame. The Praemio is available in variable Ti tubing permutations to deliver rider-tuned performance, and with standard 1 1/8" AheadSet head tube option.
